Fatal crash on I-75

A trooper at the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed there has been a fatality in the crash along southbound Interstate 75.

Due to the crash, traffic had to be routed through Wapakoneta using Ohio 67, County Road 25A, Wood Street and Bellefontaine Street. The crash caused delays in school buses getting children home after school today.

Auglaize County Emergency Management Agency Director Troy Anderson responded to the scene because of a diesel fuel spill.

Wapakoneta Fire Department and Wapakoneta EMS personnel responded to the crash which occurred in the southbound lanes Interstate 75, just south of the Bellefontaine Street overpass or exit 111. A second vehicle is believed involved in the crash.

Troopers with the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene and blocked southbound traffic, which backed up as far as Cridersville.

Officers with the Wapakoneta Police Department also responded and directed traffic at the scene and through Wapakoneta.
