The Wapakoneta Farmer’s Market will continue its preview market days from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, May 17 and May 31 in Heritage Park behind the downtown area.
The preview days give vendors an opportunity to show their plants before the official start of the season, according to Farmer’s Market Master Donald Steinke.
A variety of goods will be sold, including honey, maple syrup, jams, jellies, rhubarb, onions, radishes, lettuce, arts and crafts, cut flowers, baked goods and Amish cheese.
The official start of the season will open with activities, raffles, various participating organizations along with the regular vendors and goods from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 7, in Heritage Park.
Steinke said anyone who makes a purchase at the market will receive a ticket for one of the 10-12 baskets filled with locally grown or made goods to be raffled off that day.
Steinke said children will be occupied by the live honey bee display and the dogs and cats brought to the event by the Auglaize County Humane Society. He will also be giving free honey-filled candy to the children.
Adults may enjoy viewing the 1918 Model T Roadster pickup on display or the “The Friday Night Specials” playing music for those in attendance.
The Riverside Art Center will be at the events with art specials for sale.
