'Falloween' 5K supports disabled

October 16, 2013

Supporters of people living with disabilities will be walking, running or rolling in a Halloween-themed 5K marathon in Wapakoneta.

An organization made up of disabled “self-advocates,” People First of Auglaize County will be hosting the “Falloween 5K Walk, Run, Roll” and family fun day at 11 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park.

Jim Polutnick, of Lima, is an adviser for the People First organization in Allen County. He said he also supports the organization in Auglaize County.

“It is an organization that gets disability awareness,” Jim Polutnick, of Lima, said. “We try to get our name out there that we are an advocator for people with disabilities.”
