With only four months until fair week, the Auglaize County Fair board is finalizing planning and updating locals on changes being made to the fair this spring.
The Auglaize County Fair dedicates certain days of fair week to special members of the community, including “Kid’s Day” and “Veteran’s Day.” At a regular fair board meeting, members discussed adding some new special days and making adjustments to the existing days.
“Men’s Day” at the fair is a new concept that will take place on Monday of fair week. Admission to the fair for males on Monday will be free from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the donation of a canned or non-perishable food item.
Fair board secretary Fred Piehl said the food items will be donated to a local charity organization.
“We like to give back to the community as much as we can,” Piehl said. “We’re a nonprofit organization, too, but if everybody can work together that works out better.”
The same idea will be applied to “Lady’s Day” which will be held on Wednesday of fair week.
Piehl said the fair board is still finalizing the “Men’s Day” and “Lady’s Day,” and they will be deciding what non-profit organization to work with in the future.
