Façade first year success, leaders say
A downtown revitalization program proved to be very popular with downtown property owners hoping to take advantage of a joint city-private organization effort, a Downtown Wapakoneta Partnership member says.
Façade Improvement Committee Chair Sue Siesel provided Wapakoneta City Council members during Monday’s meeting with an update of the program as its first year nears its conclusion.
“Six downtown buildings had significant improvement directly resulting from the Façade Improvement Program,” a report from Siesel said. “It is the hope of the Downtown Wapakoneta Partnership (DWP) that this program will serve as a reflection of the pride and commitment to ongoing investment in a thriving historic downtown Wapakoneta that currently employs more than 650 people.”
