Esther Tester, 96

Esther M. Tester, 96, of Troy, died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.
She was born June 6, 1915, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Margaret (Sheipline) and Joseph Brown. She married Vernon Tester, who preceded her in death June 14, 1981.
Surviving are a son-in-law, David Mers, of Troy; a sister, Lucille Waldman, of Wapakoneta; three grandchildren, Doug (Toni) Mers, of Troy, Craig (Teresa) Mers, of Troy, and Mark Mers, of Troy; two great-grandchildren, Aarin Burke and Clinton Mers; and four great-great-grandchildren, Tessa, Briella, Lucas and Abel.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Mers, on Dec. 1, 2003; a grandson, Scott Patrick Mers, on Nov. 6, 2001; and nine siblings.
She assisted her late husband with the operation of Troy Radiator & Marine Inc.
Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Troy.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
