Entries are being accepted for several displays and competitions to be held during this year’s Waynesfield-Goshen Muchinippi WinterFest.
Scheduled for March 8 and 9, in the Waynesfield-Goshen School auditeria, the annual event features a wide array of activities for all ages.
WinterFest, which is a revival of an old community tradition, is the only fundraiser for the Waynesfield-Goshen Muchinippi Community Theatre and is become a fundraising forum for other community groups as well.
“It’s purpose is to provide a community event to bring all ages and community groups together to celebrate the end of winter,” said Pat Noykos, who helps organize the event each year.
“It’s a celebration of community and hope that winter will soon be coming to an end,” Noykos said of the event to be held on the Friday and Saturday, the second weekend in March.
She said the first festival of the season has activities “for ages 2 to 102 to enjoy.”
“We have everything from lots of good food to excellent entertainment, fun and games for kids, contests, simulated car racing, bingo, euchre, a Civil War tea for adults, and a prom and homecoming dress and accessory sale and several area bands for the teens,” Noykos said.
WinterFest is scheduled for 3 to 10 p.m. March 8 and extend from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on March 9.
