Emmett Shoup Jr., 70

Emmett H. Shoup Jr., 70, 2011 Chadwick Drive, St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at St. Ritas Medical Center in Lima.
He was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Moulton, the son of Evelyn (Katter) and Emmett Shoup Sr., and they preceded him in death. On May 25, 1963, he married Sandra K. Moots, and she survives at the residence.
Also surviving are a daughter, Barbara A. Shoup, of St. Marys; a son, Jeffrey L Shoup of St. Marys; two brothers, Darrell (Judy) Shoup, of Wapakoneta, and Charles (Ann) Shoup, of Wapakoneta; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Moots, of Cridersville, Dixie Moots, of St. Marys and Nancy (Tom) Fortman, of St. Marys; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Jack Moots and Terry Moots.
Emmett was a 1960 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He retired from the Dana Corporation, having served as a facilities/project manager on the division staff of Dana Corp. He had lived in various places in the U.S. while serving with Dana Corp.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys; a member of Eagles Lodge 767; a member of Northmoor Country Club, where he loved golfing and being with his friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed gardening, hunting and playing cards.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, with the Reverend Bill Maki officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
