Doyle M. Lhamon, 88, 875 Meadow Lane, St. Marys, died Thursday March 14, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born May 14, 1924,, in Marion, to Magdalena (Loegel) and Clarence Lhamon. He was first married to Doris M. Howell, who died July 19, 1975. He later married Mary Elizabeth Fiebelkorn, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sandra (Jeff) Mitchell, of Wapakoneta, Virginia Flahart of Mesa, Ariz., and Christine (Nolan) Fisher, of St.Paris; a son, Dennis Lhamon, of St. Marys; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a step-daughter, Chris (Steve) Storer, of St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Randall Richard Rostorfer; and a brother,, Dean Lhamon.
He attended St. Marys Memorial High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during World War II.
A life-long farmer, he also worked as a production employee for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 35 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynwood and VFW Post 9289 and American Legion Post 323, both in St. Marys.
He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, attending auctions and spending time at his winter home in Palmetto, Fla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Oscar Seger officiating. Burial with full graveside military honors will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High Street Chapel, in St. Marys.
