Doris E. Miner, 92, of Lima,, died at 10:14 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at Lost Creek Care Center in Lima.
She was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Drakes Mills, Pa., to Dora (Medley) and Irvin Hornaman, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 5, 1942, she married Arthur C. Miner and he died Aug. 7, 1987.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Scott Miner, of Los Angeles, and Douglas (Barbara) Miner, of Norwalk, Conn.; two daughters, Judith Quinlan, of Waynesfield, and Patricia Sherer, of Lima; nine grandchildren, Sharon (Drew) Miner Setterof New Mexico, Steve (Tami) Golliday, of Ohio, Heather (Jeff) Husom, of Arizona, Keli (Rich) Parker, of Ohio, Adrienne (Jeremy) Fifer, of Ohio, Ashley (Dave Wiechart) Sherer, of Ohio, Shawn (Danielle) Quinlan, of Ohio, Magenta Miner, of California, and Austin Miner Sherer, of Ohio; and 10 great-grandchildren, Zackary Golliday, Delaney Golliday, Nathan Setter, Connor Setter, Fallon Setter, Hunter Parker, Samantha Parker, Ryan Husom, Madison Fifer, and Bryce Fifer.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Francis Hornaman, two sisters, Marie Grode and Gladys Kingston; and a son-in-law, Patrick D. Quinlan.
Doris was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Lima and was an avid golfer.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Lukeâ€™s Lutheran Church in Lima, the Rev. Michael Hughes officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Uniopolis.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral Home and Cremation Services and 10 to 11 p.m. Friday at the church.
