Donald Yost, 79

Donald “Don” William Yost, 79, of Wapakoneta, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 31, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
He was born in Pennsylvania, the son of the late Lois (Hess) and Frank Yost. He married Susan Kay McElroy Yost, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Marsha (Jeff) Anderson, of Metter, Ga., Doris Edwards, of Wapakoneta, Mary Yost, of Savannah, Ga.; two sons, Nathan (Jenny) Yost, of Kingsport, Tenn., Donald Karl (Laura) Yost, of Ventura, Calif.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Yost, of Wapaakoneta, and Doyle Yost, of Wapakoneta; and a sister, Laura Gearhart, of Wapakoneta.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Chesboro.
He and his wife had been married for 53 years. Don served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was of the Methodist faith and was retired after 33 years as a commercial truck driver for G.A. Winzter and Sons Trucking Company. Don was a member of the VFW Post 8445, The American Legion, the AM Vets and the Eagles.
Services will be announced at a later date.
