Donald L. Mack, 84, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at his residence. He was born Jan. 29, 1930, on the family farm near Buckland, to the late Carl Lavonne and Tessie Lola Reed Mack. He married JoAnn Thompson Jan. 4, 1953, and she survives.
Don was a retired farmer and had worked for Ford. He was a member of Hartford Christian Church and former member of Young Farmers Group of Spencerville, Jolly Timers/Wagon Wheelers Western Square Dancing, the Allen County Farm Bureau and Gold Wing Chapter N. He was a 1948 graduate of Buckland High School. He loved and enjoyed his family, motorcycling, gardening and game playing.
Additional survivors include, children, Jerry (Kay) Mack, of Wapakoneta, Janie (Floyd) Alexander, of Urbana, Randall (Martha) Mack, of Wapakoneta, and Donna (Randall) Arthur, of Wapakoneta; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Howell, Wesley (Melissa) Mack, Miranda Mack, Brandon (Katy) Mack, Joseph Arthur, Jayne (Nick) Arnold, Alexandria Howell, James (Samantha) Arthur, Andrew (Kaori) Mack, Jordan (Amber) Mack, Robert Mack and Samuel Alexander; seven great-grandchildren, Rosie Howell, Sayuri C. Mack, Hayden J. Mack, Clair A. Arnold, Natalie G. Arthur, Sumire M. Mack and Aubrey J. Arnold; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mack was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Gene (Danny) Fourman.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Memorial services will begin at 4 p.m. with Pastor Robert King officiating. The cremated remains will be buried in St. Matthew Cemetery at a later date.
