Doloros M. Diegel Katterhenry, 100, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 5:15 p.m., Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her residence with by her family by her side. She was born July 3, 1913, in Washington Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Henry and Clara (May) Diegel, who preceded her in death. On June 12, 1938, she married Albert E. Katterhenry, and he died Sept. 2, 1972.
Survivors include two children, Douglas Katterhenry and Sharon (Richard) Olds, both of Reynoldsburg; four grandsons, Todd (Sheila) Olds, Andrew (Sandrine) Olds, Randall (Rishelle) Olds and Christopher Olds; five great-grandchildren, Tara, Lilly, Raymond and twins Eric and Evan.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Roberts.
Doloros worked as office manager at Diegel Canning Factory, and later was owner and operator of the Norge Laundry & Dry Cleaning Village, both of Wapakoneta. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and a charter member of Salem United Methodist Church, both of Wapakoneta. She was a member of the Mary Hannah Unit and sang in a trio with Opal Knoch and Olive Leffel, and accompanied by Irene Kantner. She was a member of a quilting group, the Wapakoneta Garden Club, and the Sweet Adelines.
Doloros was very artistic and enjoyed painting, flower arranging and sewing. She also enjoyed playing the piano and accordion. The loves her life were her family, Jesus, music and singing.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Kimberly Pope-Seiberling officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m., until time of service, Saturday, at the church. A family burial service will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Greenlawn Cemetery, in Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to First United Methodist Church or Grand Lake Hospice.
