Dennis Ward, 63

Dennis G. Ward, 63, of 18390 Moulton-Ft. Amanda Road, Wapakoneta, died at 8:22 a.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born June 15, 1948, in Celina, the son of Alice (Cotterman) and Charles Ward. On Dec. 17, 1966, he married Kathy L. Dunlap and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by two sons, Dennis (Jenny) Ward Jr., of St. Marys, and Douglas (Wendy) Ward, of Spencerville; three daughters, Tammy (George) Myers, of Buckland, Lorna (Howie) Glover, of Cridersville, and Bettie (David) Hess Sr., of St. Marys; 18 grandchildren, Cassie Myers, Kyle Kinney, Haley Walters, Dylan Kinney, David Hess Jr., Casey Hess, Harlie Ward, Nathan Myers, Skyler Ward, Grace Ward, Desi Ward, Denise “Muffy” Myers, Raycen Ward, John Ward, Cameron Ward, Emily Glover, Eric Glover, and Ann Glover; and a great-grand-daughter, Audrina Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Amber Kay (Ward) Baird; a brother, Charles Junior Ward; and a grandchild, Delanie Ward.
Dennis was a 1966 graduate of Celina High School. He was a crane operator at Omni Source in Lima for many years. He loved auto racing and tinkering with motors and cars; he was a jack of all trades; he also loved doing his sudoku puzzles each morning.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St. Marys, with a close family friend, Tom Powell, officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home.
