Dennis F. Lammers, 72

Dennis F. Lammers, 72, of New Knoxville, passed away suddenly on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 19, 1939, near New Knoxville. He was the son of Silas and Lola (Howe) Lammers. On Sept. 10, 1966 he married Marlene Knost and she survives near New Knoxville.
Also surviving are his children; Brian (Maria) Lammers of New Knoxville, Beth (Dan) Butcher of Wapakoneta, and Blair (Beth) Lammers, of New Knoxville, his grandchildren; Alexandra, Benjamin and Victoria Lammers, Ethan, Dean and Conner Butcher, Tyler, Carson and Megan Lammers.
Additional survivors include his sisters Karen (Bob) Wisenborn, of Celina, Sandy (David) Barlet, of New Knoxville, and Diane (Tom) Fledderjohann, of New Knoxville.
Mr. Lammers was a 1957 graduate of New Knoxville High School. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville where he was an Elder and Deacon. He was a member of the Ohio and the National Brown Swiss Association. He served in communications with the U.S. Army, stationed at the Homestead AFB during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In his younger days, he traveled with the Leeshill Dairy Show Herd, providing educational programs across the country. He was engaged in farming his entire life and was passionate about breeding award winning Brown Swiss Dairy Cattle. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville with Rev. Dr. David Williams officiating.
Burial will be in the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling hours will be on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 from 1 until 5 p.m. in the Ministry Center of the First UCC, New Knoxville and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services in the Heritage Room of First UCC.
