David Baxter, 65

David A. Baxter, 65, of Wapakoneta, died Friday afternoon, July 6, 2012, at Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Room in Bellefontaine following a sudden illness.
He was born April 22, 1947, in Mansfield, the son of Vera (Nixon) and Bill Baxter, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 6, 2004, he married Rita M. Steinke, and she survives with two daughters, Amy (Luke) Greve, of Wapakoneta, and Julie Behr, of Wapakoneta; and a son, Justin Behr, of Wapakoneta. He was previously married to Sandy Teschler Baxter, and she survives along with two sons, Steven (Laura) Baxter, of Mansfield, and John (Sonia) Baxter, of Mansfield.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Kayley Greve, Kelsey Greve, and Kayla Baxter; three brothers, Ron (Patty) Baxter, of Brooksville, Fla., Larry (Linda) Baxter, of Brooksville, Fla., and Billy Baxter, of Brooksville, Fla.; 11 Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dwight (Rose) Steinke, Mike (Carol) Steinke, Mary (Bill) Elsass, Cheryl (Jack) Walter, Denny (Donna) Steinke, Dave (Judy) Steinke, Stan (Cindy) Steinke, Mark (Janet) Steinke, Theresa (Tom) Huebner, Dale (Missy) Steinke, and Angie (Gary) Helmstetter.
Dave worked in sales at Steinke Mowers & Repair in Wapakoneta. His hobbies included camping and fishing, but most especially spending time with his grandchildren and listening to his son sing.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.
