Cynthia Bayliff, 75
Cynthia A. ‘Cindy’ Bayliff, 75, of Cridersville, died at 2:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
She was born May 25, 1937, in Gallipolis, the daughter of the late Ruth Evelyn (Spencer) Champlin and Franklin Tompkins. On July 5, 1957, she married John E. Bayliff, who survives.
Surviving are a son, Chris (Debra Garcia) Bayliff, of Cridersville; two daughters, Valery (Gary Lee) Bayliff Fultz, of Cridersville and Becky (Eric Pierson) Bayliff, of Sidney; four grandchildren, Angela Knotts Stiggers, Lynsey (Dominic) Knepper, Blake Bayliff, and Meredith Bayliff; three great-grandchildren, Tyla Stiggers, Brooklyn Stiggers, and Dayrius Stiggers; a brother, J. Christopher (Barbara) Tompkins, of Wadsworth; and two step-sisters, Shirley Douthit, of Pine Mountain, Ga., and Nancy (Jack) Freitas, of Huron.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Newton Bayliff; a daughter, Lisa Ann Bayliff; and a step-father, Ralph Blauvelt.
Mrs. Bayliff was a retired registered nurse who worked at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima. She was a member of Cridersville United Methodist Church. After graduating in 1955 from Pomeroy High School, she attended Bethesda School of Nursing in Cincinnati, and graduated from St. Rita’s School of Nursing. She was a foster mother to 17 foster children.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Cridersville United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Charles Martindell, Gail Sims and Rick Adams officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery near Cridersville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
