County hears tug noise concerns

May 28, 2014

The Auglaize County Commissioners heard comments Tuesday concerning the recent Tug-A-Truck event at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds.

“We’ve been here for 12 years. We’ve done a two-day event for the last four years,” Tug-A-Truck Co-owner Julie Gossard said.

Commissioner Doug Spencer explained the recent complaints he has heard.

“We’ve had a complaint before about the MC (master-of-ceremonies) going on beyond midnight. So we wanted to make sure we had taken care of that,” Spencer said. “We (the commissioners) are the landlord, and the fair board is who does the day to day operations. They (Wapakoneta City Council) had heard some concerns and they had talked about it in their committee meeting as well. It comes back to how loud the MC is. The band was a little loud, but we have bands during the fair and probably at other events.”
