County Health Commissioner to retire

May 14, 2014

Auglaize County Health Commissioner Charlotte Parsons informed board members at the monthly board of health meeting Tuesday morning of her intent to retire.

Board members Dot Silver, Dr. Thomas Freytag and Board of Health President, Linda Kitzmiller were reluctant to give their approval of the submission; however a motion was made and seconded.

Parsons is now set to retire on Sept. 1 of this year after almost 16 years as health commissioner. Parsons did not elaborate on her decision. She began the position in January 1998.

Prior to the announcement of Parsons intent to retire, Director of Nursing Cindy Jones presented the board with information on an outbreak of measles and mumps that has taken place in Ohio over the past couple of weeks.
