Cordie Miracle, 89

August 1, 2014

Cordie Miracle, 89, of Wapakoneta, and formerly of Findlay, went home to  be with our Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.

Cordie was born March 27, 1925, in Bell County, Ky., to the late George and MaryBell (Hoskins) Thompson. She married the love of her life, Cecil A. Miracle, on Aug. 3, 1944, in Saint Marys, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1990.

Cordie is survived by her son, Dean (Jane) Miracle, of Findlay; daughters, Vera (Robert) Tasker, of Wapakoneta, and Tina (Robert) Driftmyer, of Findlay. She is survived by her son-in-law, John Lowden, of Mt. Blanchard, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Martha Chaney, of Saint Marys, and by special brother-in-law, Ernest Miracle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Cordie was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Lowden, her brothers, Willie Thompson, Clyde Thompson, Clifton Thompson and Herbert Thompson, and her sisters, Dora Markley, Maude Caldwell and Ellen Keith.

In life, Cordie most enjoyed being surrounded by family. A homemaker, she could usually be found in the kitchen. She loved the gardens and flowers and watching the weather and left on her final journey in a beautiful sunset to guide her way home.

She was a life member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in Saint Marys, and attended Harvest Baptist Church in Wapakoneta.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the CCU Unit at Saint Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, and the very special nurses on 5K, especially Karen and Tina; also the special nurses and aides who visited and cared for her at home.

Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, with the Rev. Ronnie Bruce as officiant. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to the Susan Komen Foundation. Condolences may be sent to Cordie’s family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
