The energy discussion was sparked by the report on council’s utility committee meeting May 28.
The committee’s chair, At-Large Councilman Randy Fisher, reported that the committee continued its discussion on the AMP Sustainable Energy and Efficiency Programs. Fisher noted in the minutes of the meeting that the committee has concerns about the cost of the program to the city’s large power users.
“There is the potential for them to take advantage of AMP’s engineers and expertise that could result in substantial costs savings but does come at a heavy cost,” the minutes read.
