The Wapakoneta Theatre Guild, Inc. will be performing their spring dinner theatre April 4, 5 and 6 and 11, 12 and 13.
Joe Schlater is the treasurer of the Wapakoneta Theatre Guild and is the director of this year’s production, Cheating Cheaters. It is a show by John Patrick, which follows two middle-aged sisters impersonating nuns in order to offer their orphan niece a better life at a European art school. According to Schlater the actions of all of the characters border on legality, with hilarious dialogue and actions including the pinching of one of the fake nun’s rear end, followed by squeals and giggles.
“There’s nothing really offensive in it, just a little on the crude side,” Schlater said.
Schlater explained the interaction between all of the characters is absolutely hilarious.
“It’s an extremely funny show,” he said. “The dialogue between characters, the two middle-aged sisters, the way they get along. Sometimes they agree, sometimes they disagree and they are quibbling with each other on how to make money.”
