Cleopha Strete, 91

Cleopha Rose “Cleo” Strete, 91, of Cridersville, formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born March 15, 1921, in St. Henry, the daughter of Anna (Selhorst) and Louis H. Lange, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 1, 1947, she married Ralph A. Strete Jr., who passed away Nov. 28, 1998.
Surviving are four sons, Stephen H. (Janice) Strete, of Charleston, S.C., Jeffrey A. (Kathy) Strete, of Wapakoneta, Charles A. (Patti) Strete, of Lakeview, and Anthony J. (Lorraine) Strete, of Troy; a daughter, Margaret A. (Dale) Crumrine, of Wapakoneta; 10 grandchildren, Thomas (Jillian) Strete, Michael (Dawn) Strete, Andrew (Lacey) Strete, Ashlee Strete, Jason Strete, Alex Strete, Cassie Strete, Brianna Strete, Erica Crumrine, and Chad Crumrine; three step-grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Stancil, Elizabeth (Brad) Platzer, and Sparky Stoltz; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Matthew; two step-great grandchildren, Justin and Jessica; five brothers, Cyril (Margie) Lange, of Fort Loramie, Leroy (Beanie) Lange, of St. Henry, Eugene Lange, of St. Henry, Cletus (Edna) Lange, of St. Henry, Louis (Martha) Lange, of Wapakoneta;; four sisters, Marie Pottkotter, of St. Henry, Wilma Dues, of Philothea, Rita Schroer, of Fort Recovery, Frances (Lawrence) Gehret, of Fort Loramie; and a sister-in-law, Sally Lange, of Celina.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Lange; and a sister, Sister Agnes Lange.
Cleo retired in 1983 as a registered staff nurse at St. Rita’s Medical Center emergency room. She was a graduate of the St. Rita’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta. Her other memberships included St. Rita’s Alumni Association, the K of C Council 1272, Auxiliary, Wapakoneta, and the D.A.V. Auglaize Co. Chapter 73. Her hobbies included jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, and attending her children & grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta.
