Charles A. ‘Chuck’ Lee, 76

Charles A. “Chuck” Lee, 76, of Wapakoneta, died at 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Cridersville, the son of Thelma (South) and Dean Lee, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 11, 1961, he married Shirley A. White, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles (Stephanie) Lee, of Wapakoneta, and William Lee, of Jackson Center; two daughters, Tracy Lee, of Wapakoneta, and Tina (Dennis) Gossard, of Wapakoneta; six grandchildren, Arliss, Zachary, Hallie, Harmon, Cole and Samuel; six brothers, John Lee, of St. Marys, Robert Lee, of Jackson Center, Paul (Carolyn) Lee, of Spencerville, Dennis Lee, of Van Wert, Larry Lee, of Wapakoneta, and Walter Lee, of Jackson Center; a sister, Dorothy Martin, of Wapakoneta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Lee, Raymond Lee, and David Lee; and a sister, Shirley Ann Lee.
He retired in 2000 after 22 years service at Dana Corp. in Lima. Prior to that, he worked 25 years at Neon Products in Lima. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church of Wapakoneta and was a 1953 graduate of Spencerville High School. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Along with his wife Shirley, he delighted in spending time and caring for their granddaughter, Arliss.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta, with the Revs. Steven Nelson and Charles H. Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Auglaize County.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Auglaize County MRDD or First English Lutheran Church.
