Carrie B. Dingledine, 89, of Beavercreek, formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 10:42 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at her residence.
She was born May 22, 1923, in Lima, the daughter of Elizabeth (Hare)and Karl Hughes Sr., who preceded her in death. On Aug. 15, 1943, she married Clyde H. Dingledine, and he died Jan. 12, 2005.
Surviving are two children, Carol (Joel) Halladay, of Beavercreek, and Michael L. (Joni) Dingledine, of Bellbrook; two grandchildren, Kristin L. (Ross) Collins, of London, and Erik M. Dingledine, of Upper Arlington; a great-grandson, Michael Ross Collins, and another one on the way in July; a sister, Echo Sawmiller, of Wapakoneta, and two sisters-in-law, Jeannette Hughes, of Wapakoneta, and Ruth (Paul) Bradford, of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Karl Jr; and a brother-in-law, Carl Sawmiller.
Carrie retired in 1986 as a court reporter with the Auglaize County Common Pleas Court after 13 years service. She had previously worked at Uhlmanâ€™s Dept. Store in Wapakoneta. She was a member of the Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Buckland, and a was a 1942 graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta. Carrie had resided at Fairwood Village Apts. in Beavercreek since 2005, where she regularly attended church services. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson and going out with her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending a lot of time with her cat, Molly.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Kent Place officiating. Burial will at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
There will be no public visitation.
