C’ville names council member

November 8, 2011

CRIDERSVILLE — During a special meeting of Cridersville Village Council, councilors welcomed a new member to their ranks.
Mayor Lorali Myers gave the oath of office to Paul Lynch, 403 Reichelderfer Road, who will serve as the newest village councilor.
When former Councilor Beverly Wood resigned last month, councilors had approximately 30 days to find a replacement and Lynch was selected after a vetting process.
“We thought he would be a great person for this position,” Myers said. “He will bring in a new perspective and will offer guidance to help run the village.”
Lynch, who works at U.S. Plastics In Lima, said he is honored to be appointed the new councilor.
“I feel very honored and excited to get up there and start working,” Lynch said during the special council meeting.
He applied for the position, he said, because he wants to help run the village — a village in which he and his family are residents.
“I just wanted to help and see if I can improve the community,” Lynch said.
Along with other councilors, Lynch wants to make the village of Cridersville a great place to live and continue to help it improve and grow.
Lynch, who is married to Sherry Lynch, has a daughter, Lily, 7, who attends Cridersville Elementary School, and a son, Steven, 19, who is serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Lynch’s application was one of two applications that the village council received to fill Wood’s position on council.
