Bulldogs blank Wapakoneta, 5-0, in WBL game

The Wapakoneta Redskins were blanked 5-0 by the defending Western Buckeye League champion Celina Bulldogs on Thursday in varsity girls soccer action in Celina.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 after 6 minutes and 10 seconds of game action, on goals from Caelyn Reineke and Jenna Berry. Elyssa Sheriff added another in the first half to give Celina a 3-0 halftime lead.

Emily Jackson and Holli Brackman each scored in the second half for the Bulldogs.

Celina had 13 shots on goal, while Wapak notched five.

Callie Vogel stopped all five Redskins shots, while Mikayla Halfhill posted eight saves.

The Redskins are now 6-3 overall and 0-2 in the WBL.

Wapak will resume its season Tuesday with a home game against the Defiance Bulldogs.
