Buckland defeats fire levy
Buckland Mayor Dan Lambert says he plans to meet with Buckland Village Council members and discuss where to go from here after a levy for fire and EMS services was voted down by residents for the second time on Tuesday.
The 5-year, 3-mill property tax levy for fire and EMS services for the village was defeated 45 to 34, according to unofficial results of Tuesday’s general election from the Auglaize County Elections Board.
If passed, it would have generated the $7,000 needed to pay fees to both the Buckland Volunteer Fire Department — $5,400 for fire services and $1,500 to the Cridersville Fire Department for EMS services.
For more information on the levy, see the Wednesday, Nov. 6 edition of the Wapakoneta Daily News.
