Brody Osborne, 62

Brody A. Osborne, 62, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, July 4, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, in Lima following a sudden illness.
He was born July 8, 1948, in Martin, Ky., the son of Opal (Amburgey)and Raymond Osborne, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 29, 2006, he married Debra K. Brown, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Deanna (Steven) Shepard, of Bad Axe, Mich., Victoria (Samuel) Gilbert, of Fayetteville, N.C. a step-son, Jason (Jill) Cummings, of Wapakoneta; a step-daughter, Jessica (Tracy) Margraves, of Wapakoneta; five grandchildren, Preston M. Cummings, Joshua Shepard, Zachary Gilbert, Alyssa “Pumpkin” Margraves, and Mark Shepard; six siblings, Lou (Bill) Hoelscher, of Lima, Edward Vaughn (Donna) Osborne, of Sidney, Sharon Boss, of Sidney, Karen (Frank) Fullenkamp, of Frenchtown, James (Jerri) Osborne, of New Haven, Ind., Steve Osborne, of Greenville, and Charles Osborne, of Sidney.
Brody worked as a maintenance supervisor at the Heidelberg-Baumfolder Corp., Sidney. He was a Vietnam War veteran with the U.S. Army, and a member of the Wapakoneta VFW Post 8445, Wapakoneta. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta. An avid Cincinnati Bengals fan, he enjoyed working in his yard, tractor pulls, sprint car racing, but most especially he loved his grandchildren & family.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Wapakoneta, with the Revs. R.J. Davis and Mark Bauer officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the Wapakoneta VFW will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ohio State University Comprehensive Transplant Center.
