Boys and girls track sweep at dual meet

April 3, 2013

ST. HENRY —  The Wapakoneta boys and girls track teams defeated St. Henry Tuesday evening in a track dual event.

The boys and girls both scored 75 team points to pick up the win.

While Wapakoneta only won 15 of the 34 events, they picked up enough second and third place finishes to seal the victory for both squads.

In throwing events, Hilary Bourne won the girls shot put, and James Toth and Megan Watt won the discus for the Redskins.

The Redskins’ Cat Thams and Cameron Lauck won the long jump for Wapakoneta.

Travis Bertram and Megan Hayzlett both won the high jump for the Redskins.

The girls 1,600-meter relay,  the boys 400 relay, the boys 800 relay and the girls 800 relay  all sprinted to victory for the Redskins.

The track teams prepare now for the Trojan invite in Findlay on Friday.
