The Wapakoneta Redskins have scheduled their annual homecoming week bonfire to start at 7:40 p.m.. Thursday at Harmon Stadium

Music is to be played on the public address system with the introduction of the Wapakoneta High School Marching Band and its directors Klayton Hilleary and Steve Wimmers. The cheerleaders are to be introduced next.

Wapakoneta Redskins varsity football head coach Doug Frye takes the microphone and will introduce the Redskins football team with the senior players and cheerleaders addressing the crowd.

After a song and a few cheers, the band, cheerleaders and players will lead the fans to the softball diamond for the bonfire.

The band should play the fight song while parading to the old softball field, east of the Wapakoneta WaterPark.

Between 8:05 and 8:10, firefighters with the Wapakoneta Fire Department will light the fire as the band plays, “Great Balls O’ Fire.

After the cheerleaders lead the crowd on a couple more cheers, the Redskin football players plan to speak about the upcoming game with the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans. The players will throw a Titan mascot on the fire and than the band will play one last song and the cheerleaders lead people in one last cheer.
