Betty J. Ford, 77, of 516 Ruth St., Wapakoneta, died at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, in Lima.
She was born March 2, 1934, in Belleview, Mo., the daughter of Lillian (Winters) and William Reed, who preceded her in death.
She married Allen Ford and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2001. She also was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Joe Myers.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sheba (Bill) Vaughn, of Wapakoneta, and Debbie (Eric) Wade, of Bismarck, Mo.; three step-children, Teena (Dan) Camper, of Wapakoneta, Mary (Barrie) Courtney, of Lima, and Billie (Sue) Ford, of Spencerville; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon (Sonny) Barton, of Arnold, Mo., and Frances (Harold) Leydensm, of Jefferson City, Mo.; two brothers, Don (Martha) Reed, of Pilot Knob, Mo., and Bill (Roberta) Reed, of Citrus Heights, Calif.
She also was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Ericka Wade and Chad Courtney.
Betty was retired from the Hayes-Albion Corporation in Spencerville. She devoted her life to loving and taking care of her family.
Funeral rites are scheduled for noon Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Betty’s family.
