Betty Hurley, 80

Betty June Hurley, 80, of Wapakoneta, died at 6:25 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, in Heartland of Waterville Nursing Home.
She was born May 22, 1931 in Spencerville, the daughter of Bernice May Logan and Melvin David Richardson. Both parents are deceased. On May 14, 1947, she married the Rev. Donald E. Hurley, who survives at Otterbein-Cridersville Retirement Community.
Surviving are three sons, Donald Eugene (Cheryl) Hurley, Jr., of Sevierville, Tenn., John W. (Lorraine) Hurley, of Spencerville, and Dwight David (Edna) Hurley of Bristow, Va.; a daughter, Cheryl A. (Michael) Teets of Erie, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Judy) Richardson, of Spencerville; and a sister, Mary (Carl) Best of Rymersburg, Pa.
She was a homemaker and a member of Hume United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, painting, and traveling. Church was always very meaningful to her. She loved her family and spending time with them. The reverand and Mrs. Hurley found great pleasure in traveling and sharing special time with their grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, with the Rev. Rick Lamb officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Spencerville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
