Betty A. Bowersock, 84, 1321 Celina Road, St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 17, 1928 in St. Marys, to Mary (Ruperd) and Ralph McElroy. On Jan. 21, 1949, in Celina, she married Norman R. Bowersock, who died March 23, 2007.
Surviving are a son, Roger (Patty) Bowersock, of Celina, three grandsons, Roger (Christina) Bowersock Jr., of Greenville, Anthony Bowersock, of Columbus, and Austin Bowersock, of Celina; three granddaughters April Olmstead of Sidney, Amanda Bowersock, of San Diego, Calif., and Katie Collins of Celina, five great-grandchildren, Elijah Olmstead, Alexandra Olmstead, Natalie Downey, Josilyn Worten, and Izzabelle Bowersock; two sisters, Marylou (Melvin) Schumann, of Botkins, and Jerrilyn Temple, of Celina, three sisters-in-law: Marge McElroy, of Monroe, Ind., Esther McElroy, of Bedford, Ind., and Jean Bowersock, of Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers, William, Walter Leroy, Robert, Leo, Ralph Jr., Walter Lee and Edgar McElroy
She was a homemaker.
Her favorite pastimes included and spending time with her grandchildren
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Ohio 703 West Chapel, St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Drummond officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
