Bettie Schaub, 91

Bettie J. Schaub, 91, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Auglaize Acres in Wapakoneta.
She was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Delphos, the daughter of Icy Mae (Felver) and Clinton Miller, who preceded her in death. On June 25, 1955, she married Cletus W. Schaub, and he died March 3, 1987.
Surviving are three sons, Paul (Nancy) Schaub, of Wapakoneta, Cletus George Schaub, of Deshler, and John (Vickie) Schaub, of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Martha Schroer, of Wapakoneta, eight grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Clinton “Babe” Miller, Jr., Johanna Finley, Sarah Theising, and Robert “Bob” Miller.
A linotype operator, Bettie worked at the Fort Wayne, Ind., Journal Gazette and the Wapakoneta Daily News. During World War II, she worked at the Turner Toy Co. in Wapakoneta. She was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta, the Wapakoneta Y.M.C.A. and Brand’s Fishing Lake, all of Wapakoneta. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. In her later years, she was an avid swimmer at the Wapakoneta YMCA.
Services at 10 a.m. Fri.day at the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Mark Bauer officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thurday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
