Bethel Slone, 73

Bethel Slone, 73, of rural Wapakoneta, died Friday evening, June 24, 2011, at his residence.
He was born April 18, 1938, in Knott County, Kentucky, the son of Phebie and Sylvester Slone, who preceded him in death. On June 17, 1958, he married Ila Mae Craft, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Curt (Candy) Slone, of Wapakoneta; four daughters, Kathie (Mike) Mikos, of Peoria, Ariz., Brenda (Ronnie) Widmark, Becky (Rob) Peterson, and Helen (Daniel) Shelley, all of Wapakoneta; 16 grandchildren, Sarah (Chad) Cotterman, Shannon (J.D.) Lamb, Anthony Morris, Chad (Melynda) Oliver, Jeff Miller, Courtney (Ben) Freisthler, Brianna Widmark, Cody (Becca) Peterson, Tora Peterson, Zach Nicoll, Amber Nicoll, Adriann (Matthew) Peters, Brett Nicoll, Jr., Kasara King, Danielle Lamb, and Jordan Lamb; 14 great-grandchildren, Jamison Cotterman, Damien Lamb, Xavier Lamb, Ty Lamb, Caleb Lamb, Lucas Morris, Zayden Oliver, Hannah Peterson, Rileigh Peters, Peyton Peters, Christian Kreitzer, Cheylynn King; seven siblings, Pearl (Loy) Maggard, of Hollybush, Ky., Goldie (Doug) Lawhorn, of Portsmouth, Sylvia (Bob) Kolhorst, of St. Marys, Raffie Slone, of Columbus, Betty Kanorr, of Wapakoneta, Rita (Carlos) Mosley, of Lima, & Ruth (Billy) Howard, of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Slone, and sisters, Avanell Slone, Ruby Slone, Hester Reynolds, and an infant, Helen Marie Slone.
Bethel retired as a woodworker after 33 ½ years service at Merschman Brothers Furniture Co. in Celina.
His hobbies included fishing and hunting.
Services are at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Ed Ingram officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
