BASKETBALL: Perry trips Tigers

LIMA — Perry Commodores senior Kevontae Steele scored 23 points to lead Perry to a 54-47 win over the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers in a varsity boys basketball game Friday night at Perry High School.

The Tigers held onto a narrow 40-39 lead heading into the fourth quarter. But Steele scored seven points in the final stanza to pace Perry. His three to open the quarter gave the Commodores a lead they would not relinquish.

W-G fell to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the Northwest Central Conference.

Perry is 2-2, 1-0 in conference play.

The Tigers had three players. Dylan Little, Lee Turner and Colton Miller each scored 13 points in the contest.
