Barbara Overman, 82

Barbara L. (Kiser) Overman,82, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella, Iowa following a very brief illness.
She was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Anna, to Esther (Katterhenry) and Walter Steinkemper. In 1984, she married Dr. Frank H. Overman, a high school classmate, and moved to Pella, Iowa, where they enjoyed 25 years of marriage together until Dr. Overman’s death in 2010.
She is survived by a son, Michael Kiser of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Patricia Kiser (John) Saville, of Guilford, Conn.; two step-daughters, Marcey Overman (Glenn) Mullins, of Bedford, Texas, and Mary Overman (Dale) Culver, of Shawnee, Kan.; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Kiser) Bell, Courtney Mullins, Hayley Mullins and Keith Culver; and two sisters, Betty Jones, of New Mexico, and Joan Carey of Ohio.
She graduated from Sidney High School and was in radio advertising for WERM and also spent many years working for The Chalet Restaurant in Wapakoneta. Barb will be remembered for her wonderful personality and sense of fun. She loved music, the theatre, playing bridge and most of all her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at at the United Methodist Church in Pella, Iowa.
