At the Auglaize County Franklin B. Walter Awards Dinner last Wednesday night, students and teachers from Minster, New Bremen, New Knoxville, St. Marys, Wapakoneta and Waynesfield-Goshen were honored for their accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.

For each student honored, a teacher who had the biggest influence on them throughout the past four years was chosen by the student.

As reported in the Thursday, April 3 edition of the Wapakoneta Daily News, Wapakoneta High School senior George Jose was chosen to represent the district and Auglaize County as the Franklin B. Walter All Scholastic Achievement Award winner. Jose will attend a student recognition luncheon this Wednesday in Columbus, where he will be one of 88 students represented throughout the state. At the banquet Wednesday night, Jose chose to honor his academic team coach, Adam Friemering, who he said was both “an excellent teacher and commendable person."
