Auglaize Acres Nursing Home will see a few changes put in place over the next year, including community involvment and patient interaction, as a result of a new therapy program manager.
Matt Schultz, 27, said he was excited to start his position as therapy program manager on Jan. 21, and he already has a few goals in mind for the center.
“We’re looking forward to planning some events for the community to come and visit,” Schultz said. “We also want to plan some events for the patients who do live here long-term with families coming in.”
However, Schultz said his biggest goal is to shape the image of Auglaize Acres more toward a temporary rehabilitation center.
“I really want to have people feel like this isn’t just a place where they can come to spend the rest of their days,” Schultz said. “This is a place where people can come to get the best therapy and rehab and go back home after [recovering] from surgeries and other medical or therapy needs that they have.”
