Anna Louise Koch, 101

Anna Louise (Fisher) Koch, 101, died peacefully at her home Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, on Casey Key, Fla.
She was born on November 23, 1909, on her grandfather’s farm on Fisher Road, north of Wapakoneta, the daughter of Anna Catherine (Stein) and Charles William Fisher, founders of Fisher Cheese Co., which at one time was Wapakoneta’s largest employer. On July 7, 1932, she married her friend and former high school classmate George Henry Koch.
She is survived by a son, Karl W. (Judy A.) Koch, of, Frederickstown and Corpus Christi, Texas, two daughters, Georganna Koch Anderson, of Dallas, Texas, and Kristine (Peter) Platt, of La Jolla, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Karla Koch Seeton, of College Station, Texas, Kim Koch, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Julia Koch, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Eric Musselman, of Los Angeles, Nicole Musselman, of Dallas, Anna Plumlee, of Dallas, Christian Anderson, of Dallas, and Brett Anderson, of Dallas; and 20 great-grandchildren. A great-great-granddaughter will be born in November.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Paul Fisher, Harold Fisher, DeWitte Fisher, and Frederick Fisher; a sister, Emma Rosentrater; and a grandson, George A. Koch.
She attended the country school and, later, Williamson School, before graduating from Blume High School in 1927. After earning a degree in education from Ohio Northern University, she served as a school teacher in Van Wert, earning an annual salary of $900.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and St. Paul United Church of Christ in Wapakoneta, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a fraternal organization based on teachings from the Bible.
Her husband became president of Koch Beverage & Ice Company, brewers of Old Vienna Beer and Consolidated Bottling Company of Lima, (Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Lima and Wapakoneta). She spent the last 40 years of her life in her home on the Island of Casey Key, Fla., south of Sarasota.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul U.C.C. in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Joe Pumphrey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Wapakoneta.
