Albert J. Bustetter, 92, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013, at Auglaize Acres. He was born July 27, 1920, in Wapakoneta, the son of Frances (Fischer) and John Bustetter, who preceded him in death. On June 5, 1946, he married Evelyn A. Seitz, and she died July 16, 2009.
Survivors include three children, Sister Mary Assumpta “Nancy,” of Euclid, James Bustetter, of North Miami, Fla., and Susan (Tom) Niese, of Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his twin brother, Alfred Bustetter.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, John; a brother, Charles; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille (William) Koenig, and Verona (John) Mosler; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Bustetter.
Albert retired in 1980 as a punch press operator from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys, after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the K of C Council 1272, both of Wapakoneta.
A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, he was a life member of the Wapakoneta VFW Post 8445. His hobbies included playing cards, woodworking, fishing and camping.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Wapakoneta. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta VFW.
The family plans to receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Renovation Fund.
