Negotiations between Auglaize Acres administrators and its unionized employees remain ongoing.
The 64 employees belonging to the bargaining unit are continuing to work under terms of the previous contract, which expired June 30, Auglaize Acres Administrator Connie Pierce said.
The previous three-year contract was signed in 2009. The contract under negotiation would be for another three years.
“We are still in negotiations,” Pierce said, noting since negotiations are taking place she can not say more until a contract is finalized.
To date, Acres staff and administrators have met two times, once May 18 and once May 25.
They are scheduled to meet again July 30 for fact finding.
The county nursing home’s bargaining unit represents all but three of the Acres licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and its ancillary staff, including those employed as cooks, dietitians, housekeepers, custodians, and in laundry and housekeeping.
Thirty-eight staff members, including management, are not part of the bargaining unit.
Pierce declined to comment further.
