ACME: Minster rips New Knoxville

MINSTER — The Minster ACME baseball team continued its winning ways Friday night as it defeated New Knoxville 23-0 in five innings in the second game of the sectional ACME Tournament held at Minster.
Minster began the game with four runs in the first inning including a two-run home run to left field by Rob Wente. It scored four runs on four hits. Devon Poeppelman and Ryan Hoying also had doubles in the inning.
In the second inning, Minster scored two runs on a wild pitch and a bases-loaded walk to Doug Huber.
Minster put the game away in the third when it scored 10 runs on six hits and two errors. Everybody in the lineup scored and Drew Elson scored twice to make the score 16-0.
In the fourth inning, the rout continued as Minster scored seven runs on four hits and two New Knoxville errors. Hoying and Elson both doubled in the inning and Hoying also tripled. Poeppelman also got a two-run single.
