The Redskins hit the links Wednesday afternoon, and took a one-stroke win back into the clubhouse.

Led by senior Caleb Acheson, who carded a 36 on the afternoon, Wapakoneta was able to defeat Greenville, 163-164.

Varsity head coach Kenny Wayman said he was happy to get the win, but he needs to see improvement, especially heading into the heart of league play.

“I give kudos to my one and two man tonight.  They carried us tonight,” Wayman said. “I’ll take the win but for us to stay in contention in the WBL race, we have to get better scores from our three, four, five and six man.”

Wayman said the biggest obstacle for the team is keeping the ball in play. The Redskins are now 5-1 in head-to-head matches.

Other scores:

Bobby Crow, 37

Drew Wayman, 45

Aaron Johnson, 45

Josh Apple, 49

Jordan Dodds, 52
