The Auglaize County 4-H Club recognized several members for their contributions to the organization throughout the years at the 52nd Annual 4-H Adviser and Junior Leadership Recognition Banquet Monday night at the Junior Fair Building.
The club awarded plaques to three outstanding 4-H youth, one friend of 4-H and one outstanding adviser at the banquet.
Julia Pepple, Morgan Miller and Abby Wilker all received the award for being an outstanding 4-H youth member, based on their career accomplishments, recommendations from their 4-H advisers and reviews by the 4-H committee.
“This group of young people exhibit what 4-H is all about — developing responsible, young leaders for the community,” 4-H Program Assistant Lori Now said.
Pepple, a 9-year member of 4-H, was the first to receive the outstanding youth award. She is the member of two 4-H clubs — the Nailbenders and the Star Spangled Clovers, and is active in leadership roles within those clubs. She is also a 4-H camp counselor, assistant secretary of the junior fair board and is active in many extra-curricular activities at Wapakoneta High School. She is currently in the running for the 4-H advisory committee, which club members will vote on in the coming weeks.
