‘Y’ kicks off annual campaign

That is the theme of the 2014 Annual Support Campaign held for the Wapakoneta Family YMCA.

With testimonials from two fund recipients, and a campaign overview, the Y launched its annual campaign Wednesday morning.

Campaign chair Van Wright said he has been involved with the YMCA for 31 years, and was a part of the core group that got together to form the Y here in town in the late 90s.

“A large number of people, probably 30, 40, 50 key people came together to help form this Y from the ground up, so I’ve been a part of it and the Annual Support Campaign just goes with leadership,” he said. “If you’re in that core group of folks that want to see something happen to keep it going, you have to have an Annual Support Campaign, it’s absolutely essential.”
