Linda Lou Luke, 62, of Cridersville, died at 12:47 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at St. Ritaâ€™s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born June 8, 1949, in Celina, the daughter of Mary Ellen Wallace and Robert E. Minnich, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 10, 1973, she married Robert Dean Duke, who died Feb. 9, 2001.
Surviving are a brother, Robert (Carla) Minnich, of New Bremen, and three nephews, Austin J. Minnich, of New Bremen, Mitchell R. Minnich, of New Bremen, and Spencer W. Minnich, of New Bremen.
She was a homemaker and a 1967 graduate of New Bremen High School.
Doris E. Miner, 92, of Lima,, died at 10:14 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at Lost Creek Care Center in Lima.
She was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Drakes Mills, Pa., to Dora (Medley) and Irvin Hornaman, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 5, 1942, she married Arthur C. Miner and he died Aug. 7, 1987.

NEW BREMEN — An Auglaize County girl, with connections to Wapakoneta, recently finished in second in a state-wide free throw shooting contest in Columbus.
Kelly Naylor, 11, a fifth-grader at New Bremen Elementary School, hit 15-of-25 free throws in the Elks Hoop Shoot contest to finish second state-wide.
“I am happy I made it that far,” the fifth grader said.
It was purely by accident that Kelly found her talent at hitting free throws.
A local mother, who is working toward a degree in occupational therapy, is a recipient of an award given by a local club — not only at the local level but on the district level.
Heather Kohler, of Wapakoneta, was presented the 2012 Women’s Opportunity Award by Soroptimist International of Wapakoneta at their 2012 awards banquet held Tuesday evening.
The goal of the local Soroptimist club is to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.
A country agency has recently moved to a larger site in Wapakoneta to accommodate the people they serve.
The Auglaize County Council on Aging (ACCA) moved their Wapakoneta satellite office from a downtown building to the community room at the Wapakoneta Family YMCA.
“It was so small, we were bursting at the seams,” ACCA Director of the Wapakoneta Satellite site Sandy Stanfield said of the reason for a new location.
A bond issue for a new school in New Bremen failed, while voters split on local options regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages as the polls closed Tuesday across the state.
New Bremen Local School District voters defeated a bond issue and tax levy to leverage Ohio School Facilities Commission money to build a new school building. Residents cast 921 votes, or 61 percent, against the taxes while 587 votes, or 39 percent, supported the measures.
