Barb Lewis has done pretty much all of it in her more-than 35 years in the horse business.
Lewis, of Upper Sandusky, has trained, jockeyed and now owns her own stable.
She had two horses entered in Tuesday nightâs eight-race program at the Auglaize County Fair. Mad Hatter finished third in the first-division 2-year-old colts one-mile trot. And Jesseâs Legend matched that result in the second-division 2-year-old colts one-mile trot.

Norma K. Sensabaugh Garn, 69, of Wapakoneta, and formerly of Spencerville and Erie, Pa., died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home in Wapakoneta, where she had resided since April 1.
She was born Oct. 8, 1941, in Sardinia, the daughter of Joy (Stotler) and Normal âPopeyeâ Sensabaugh, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 20, 1979, she married Kaye Garn and he died June 23, 1997.
Mildred Margaret âMillieâ Rayburn Porter Craft, 87, of Wapakoneta, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at her residence of natural causes.
She was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Clark Co., the daughter of Florence Margaret (Pilcher) and John Charles Rayburn, Sr., who preceded her in death. On Aug. 1, 1942, she married Harold Russell Porter, Sr., and he died in Feb. 1951. Then in Oct. 1955, she married Frederick Andrew Craft, and he died in Aug. 2005.
The Wapakoneta Redskins football team took to the practice field Monday for the first official day of coaching. The Redskins open the varsity football season Aug. 26 at Harmon Field against Bellefontaine.

When Kayla Schneiderâs name was announced as the 2011 Auglaize County Junior Fair queen, she broke into a subtle smile â later saying she knew all the contestants were deserving.
On Monday, Wapakonetaâs Schneider and St. Marysâ Patrick Schwartz were crowned as royalty over the 159th Auglaize County Junior Fair.
Schwartz said the selection gave him a feeling of accomplishment after being chosen.
âIts an awesome feeling,â Schwartz said. âI grew up wanting to be selected some day.â
The cityâs legislative body approved moving forward on an opportunity to purchase the former Centennial Elementary School property and make it part of the Wapakoneta park system.
A 49-year-old Wapakoneta woman attempting to cross between stopped train cars got caught on one of them as the train started to move again Sunday afternoon.
Wapakoneta Police Chief Russ Hunlock said at 1:05 p.m. Mary Music, 49, of Apt. 1, 2 Perry St., attempted to cross through the stopped train at the Auglaize Street intersection by crawling between cars. Witnesses saw what happened and called the Wapakoneta Police Department for assistance.
Hunlock said they notified CSX about Music and asked them to make an emergency stop.
Music was removed from the train with no injuries.

A local fundraiser brought members of the community together to raise awareness for an auto-immune disease.
âA Walk for Lupusâ attracted approximately 400 people Saturday morning to Harmon Field in Wapakoneta to show their support by either walking or running a 5K.
Lupus Foundation of America Michigan and Northwest Ohio Chapter President and CEO Aleta Foust said it is important for everyone to be aware of what lupus is.
âThere are 50,000 people in the state of Ohio that have lupus,â Foust said. âThere are more people than we know that have lupusâ
A local festival dodged the rain this past weekend as it drew large crowds for its activities on Friday and Saturday.
The Uniopolis Jamboree, the mid-summer event, is the major fundraiser for the Uniopolis Fire Departmentâs budget, and firefighter Sam Blank said that the money will fund their budget for the year. This year the proceeds from the event will go toward updating equipment.
âThe money is used for repairs, and for new equipment,â Blank said. âOutdated equipment needs to be replaced.â
WAYNESFIELD â Waynesfield Village Council members voted Friday to add a new officer to the local police force â a K-9.
After many councilors expressed uncertainty at a meeting Monday and tabled the issue, they evidently gathered the information they needed as the proposal from Police Chief Nathan Motter passed Friday with a unanimous vote.
