WAYNESFIELD — Employee health insurance again hit the forefront as Waynesfield Village Council members discussed the topic during Monday’s council meeting.
Councilors Rich Libby and Chris Kaufman presented an option to council that would still provide the village with a savings of $10,259 but according to the committee’s findings they also would provide the village’s seven employees with a good plan.
Wapakoneta City Schools Board of Education members heard a presentation Tuesday regarding plans for students to attend the FFA National Convention.
Wapakoneta High School FFA adviser Chris Turner discussed with board members plans for students to attend the annual convention in Indianapolis.
BOTKINS — Botkins Village Council members voted Tuesday to apply for Issue I money from the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) to replace the old South Street lift station during its regular council meeting.
Village Administrator Jesse Kent said the lift station has reached the end of its usage expectancy and it was time for council to start looking into its replacement.
“The current substation is over 40 years old,” Kent told councilors.
Alison Renee Roediger, 53, of New Knoxville, died at 11:43 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the St. Ritaâ€™s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born March 12, 1959, in Lima, the daughter of Ruth (Cook) and John Robert Jaynes. Her mother survives in Wapakoneta, and her father survives in Hillsboro.
Mary Vail McCoy, 91, of Lima, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
She was born Nov. 30, 1920, in Cleveland, the daughter of Cretora (Hay) and George S. Vail, who preceded her in death. On May 18, 1962, she married Glenn W. McCoy, who died July 1, 1995, in Lima.

Col. (retired) David F. â€śJackâ€ť Stoutamire Jr., 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa.
He was born July 22, 1930, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, the son of Evon and David F. Stoutamire Sr., who preceded him in death. He married his loving wife, Sarah, who also preceded him in death.
Lee Kuck, 67, of New Bremen, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept, 22, 2012, at the St. Ritaâ€™s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born Jan. 7, 1945, in New Bremen, the son Esther (Quellhorst) and Ewald Kuck, who preceded him in death.
Marilyn S. Baxter, 52, of Waynesfield, died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20,2012, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
She was born Feb. 19, 1960, in Lima, to Joaan M. (Magher) and Richard Edwin Baxter. Her mother survives in Waynesfield and her father preceded her in death.
Also surviving are a brother, Ronald E. (Sandy) Baxter, of Melbourne, Fla.; two sisters, Joanna Lynn (Joshua) Foster, of Toledo, and Amy Marie (Jamie) Miller, of Kenton; and nine nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was a member of Waynesfield United Methodist Church.
WAPAKONETA — The St. Marys Roughriders rode a second-half backwind in route to a 4-0 victory of the Wapakoneta Redskins.
Varsity girls soccer coach Paul Dingledine said that he knew the wind was going to play a factor in the contest, and whichever team had it behind them was playing with an advantage.
